Project in the Spotlight – Kids Bedroom

We are often asked to design kids bedroom. When this family moved to their new house  – their 10-year-old Sebastian got his very first own bedroom. Mum enlisted Decology to help transform the bland room into a fun and warm space for the young lad to grow.

    The Brief

Our young client, knew exactly what he wanted, and that was not a traditional kids bedroom scheme. A Holland National Team football fan he wanted to make sure there was enough orange in the room, space to store and display his lego and an extra bed for those all important sleepovers. Mum added that the design should not themed and a comfortable desk to do homework was to be included….

    We got to work…

Decologist Trudy Ziman, created a concept based on an orange, navy blue and white colour scheme.

Strong geometric lines on the rug, bedding and blinds add interest…

But the hero in the room is definitely the vintage wall paper mural behind the bed

Our clients young and old were delighted with the result, this is definitely a kids bedroom to remember. “We love the final result, Seb is really happy with his room. I would have never been able to come up with such a cool space for him. Sebastian favourite bit is  the wallpaper he has started pinning all the places he wants to visit. For us, the best part is that we spent under £1,000 putting all together”

This bedroom has  everything this 10-year-old could dream of: customised  lego storage, comfy desk for homework, sleepover beds, cool bean bags and of-course a special place for an old friend….
