The April Edit – Spring is in the air

Finally it looks like spring might be on it’s way, but with the British weather of course there are no guarantees.  While I’m keeping everything crossed that the sun does keep his hat on, here are my top April picks for cheerful new interiors buys that are guaranteed to brighten up your home come rain or shine.

    Pot Luck

Aside from our fickle climate, another thing that’s intrinsically British is our love of a good cup of tea, although admit it – who makes their cuppa in a proper pot? If you’re a bag-in-a-mug type brewer you may want to have a rethink, if only to be able to use one of the magnificent tea cosies from Artisans & Adventurers. Handmade in Tanzania, the London based store produces all of their collections in collaboration with small-scale artisans and craft groups around the world that would otherwise not have a way to sell abroad.

    Flower Power

Oliver Bonas used to be the place where you popped in to get a birthday card or a last minute gift, but in recent months their homeware range has got better and better.  From lighting and tableware to a great range of textiles, their affordable collections, which feature on trend terrazzo designs, lots of marble and ever-popular brass, are really right on the money.  These brand new ceramic vases with their dribble glaze are a pocket friendly version of much more expensive Scandi brands, and are the perfect vessel for a cheerful bunch of spring daffs.

    From £18,

    Sweet Spring Dreams

The first thing you see when you wake up can affect your mood for the rest of the day, so this spring why not make it something that really makes you smile? The new Kip & Co collection, called 24 Karat, includes this reversible 100% pure woven French flax linen duvet cover in lemon hounds tooth and creamy rose, and aqua linen pillowcases as well as cute candy coloured velvet cushions. These and many more interiors treats are available from Antipodream, who specialise in working with artists, designers and brands from Australia and New Zealand.

    From £32,

    On the Wall

Since they launched back in 2006, cult British homewares brand Mini Moderns have been making some of the most fun graphic wallpaper designs around, and their latest collection is no exception. Called ‘True Romance’ the design is influenced by founders Mark and Keith’s love for both Pop Art and the romantic comic strips they both used to read in their older sister’s magazines. Available in 4 colourways, Welsh Slate, Snow & Gold, Tangerine Dream and Lido, it’ll take you right back to your teenage years.

    £50 per roll,

    Hot Seat

Scandi super brand Ikea have done it yet again with their new Avsiktlig collection for spring 2017, which includes colourful furniture, fabrics and accessories as well as bold patterned textiles and fabrics by the meter.  A collaboration between by three young Ikea designers Iina Vuorivirta, Ida Pettersson and Hanna Dalrot and iconic Swedish design collective 10-gruppen, the best pieces include these colbalt blue chairs that take the current rattan trend to another level. Despite their curvaceous design, they can also be stacked when not in use so are super space saving too.

Looking to find that perfect piece to spring your space into spring, our designers are here to help!
